Husband and wife team Chris and Lindsay Buscher opened the flagship Urban Chic, a contemporary clothing boutique, in Washington, DC’s posh Georgetown neighborhood in 2004. Thanks to Lindsay’s eye for style and commitment to mixing pieces from established brands with newer trends from up-and-coming designers, Urban Chic quickly became a go-to shopping spot for hip Washingtonians. A location in Baltimore's bustling Harbor East neighborhood came next, and though both stores evoke a similar style, each has its own personality and a selection unique to the style of local clients.
Today Urban Chic is a mainstay of the local fashion community, hosting trunk shows, supporting community organizations, and producing a full-scale fashion show/charity benefit in Baltimore each fall. Its dedicated team of fashion professionals strives to bring the best fashion trends to traditionally conservative areas while providing the very best in customer service. It is no surprise that Urban Chic—recognized as a favorite clothing boutique by both DC and Baltimore publications—has gained a fiercely loyal following among stylish local residents and even a few famous faces as well.
“We build our foundation on trust—a promise to provide the utmost respect and excellent customer service to our staff and clients. To be in tune with trends, but never a follower. Our purpose is to create lasting friendships and family through a common love for fashion. As a small family-oriented boutique, it is our goal to provide customers with a down-to-earth shopping experience in a world where bigger and faster is better. We aim to show local support to our communities while providing our clients a window to national designers.” - Urban Chic Mission Statement
